In the INFLUANCE system, this specific experience maps consistently to a single Goetic spirit: Vepar, the 42nd spirit of the Ars Goetia.

Who Is Vepar?

Vepar is described in the Lesser Key of Solomon as a Great Duke of Hell, commanding 29 legions. He is depicted as a mermaid — a creature of the water, of depth, of things hidden beneath the surface. His domain is the sea, and specifically the way the sea can become hostile: stormy, isolating, impenetrable.

His influence in emotional terms is precise. Vepar does not cause explosive rage or irrational fear. He causes something quieter and more corrosive: the feeling that emotional warmth has been withdrawn from your life. That connection is no longer possible. That you are somehow cut off from others by a force you cannot name or see.

Heartbreak opens a channel for this influence. The loss of a relationship creates an emotional wound that Vepar's energy can inhabit — deepening the isolation, making recovery feel impossible, and replacing the natural grieving process with something that feels like permanent emotional damage.

The Angelic Counter: Mikael

In the Dr. Rudd tradition — sourced from Harley Manuscript 6483 in the British Library — each of the 72 Goetic spirits has a paired Shem HaMephorash angel that directly counteracts it. For Vepar, that angel is Mikael, the 42nd angel of the Shemhamphorash.

Mikael (distinct from the archangel Michael, though related in function) governs protection in travel, warmth in relationships, and the restoration of healthy political and social connection. Where Vepar severs, Mikael re-weaves. The traditional psalm verse associated with this pairing is Psalm 121:7 — "The Lord will keep you from all harm; he will watch over your life."

Working with this pairing means naming the influence directly. Acknowledge that what you are experiencing is not simply your own emotional failure. Something has attached itself to the wound. Then consciously invoke the counter — through intention, prayer, or simply by understanding what is happening.

The Crystal Prescription

INFLUANCE prescribes Rhodonite and Amazonite for the Vepar influence.

• Rhodonite — the stone of emotional first aid. Carries rose-pink and black manganese, literally the colours of a wound healing. It does not bypass grief; it moves you through it without getting stuck.
• Amazonite — restores communication and emotional truth. Vepar's isolation is partly about the inability to express or receive warmth. Amazonite reopens that channel.

The INFLUANCE system does not claim that a demon is literally causing your heartbreak. What it offers is a precise, centuries-old vocabulary for emotional experiences that modern language handles poorly.

Saying "I'm heartbroken" tells you almost nothing. Saying "I'm experiencing the Vepar pattern — emotional isolation following a rupture in connection, countered by Mikael" gives you a direction, a crystal, a psalm, and a framework for understanding what is happening and what to do next.

That is the difference between being lost in a feeling and having a map.
