How to Break a Generational Curse

Some patterns in families are too consistent to be coincidence. The same addiction appearing in every generation. The same financial ceiling that nobody seems able to break through. The same relationship dynamic repeating identically across brothers, sisters, cousins. The same early death. The same specific form of suffering, passed down like a dark inheritance nobody chose.

The Biblical tradition calls this a generational curse. Deuteronomy 28 describes with uncomfortable precision the kinds of inherited suffering that follow a household when divine covenant is broken. Whether you read this literally or metaphorically, the pattern recognition is real.

In the INFLUANCE system, this maps to Belial — the 68th and one of the most significant spirits of the Ars Goetia.

Belial: The Spirit of the Covenant Broken

Belial is described in the Lesser Key of Solomon as a King of great power, created immediately after Lucifer and among the first to fall. He commands 80 legions and is associated with lawlessness — specifically, with the breaking of divine order and the consequences that follow.

His influence is not dramatic. It does not announce itself. It works through slow structural oppression — the kind that makes you feel that certain good things simply are not available to you and never will be. That the deck is stacked. That effort does not produce reward the way it does for others. That something invisible is holding the ceiling down.

This is generational curse energy. It is inherited, not generated fresh by the person experiencing it. Which is why it feels so unfair — because it is. You did not create it. But it is yours to resolve.

The Counter: Habuhiah

The Shem HaMephorash angel paired with Belial in the Dr. Rudd system is Habuhiah, the 68th angel of the Shemhamphorash, drawn from Exodus 14:19–21.

Habuhiah governs healing, fertility, and the restoration of abundance. In the agricultural metaphor of Kabbalistic tradition, Habuhiah is the angel who returns the land to fruitfulness after a period of barrenness. This maps directly to what is needed when a generational pattern has locked a family into cycles of lack, illness, or repeated failure.

The psalm verse for this pairing is Psalm 106:1"Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever." A verse explicitly about the restoration of divine favour after a period of its withdrawal.

Recognising the Pattern First

Before any counter can work, the pattern must be named. This is harder than it sounds. Generational patterns are invisible precisely because they are normalised — the family simply assumes that this is how life works. That money always runs out. That relationships always end this way. That certain health conditions simply "run in the family."

Ask yourself:

When you can name it precisely, you have already begun to separate yourself from it. The curse derives much of its power from invisibility.

The Crystal Prescription

INFLUANCE prescribes a three-stone combination for Belial's influence:

You Are the One Who Breaks It

Generational patterns end with a person who decides to see them clearly and act differently. Not through willpower alone — the pattern is too deeply embedded for that — but through the combination of clear naming, angelic counter, and physical grounding through crystal work.

You did not choose the inheritance. But you are the one reading this. That is not coincidence.
